Just found out this morning when I checked my stub! About 4.8%, so not like I’m about to sell the Kia Amanti for a car now, but I wasn’t expecting to actually be paid for taking on more work! Increased compensation for increased responsibility, what a novel concept!! I may be sharing more work news in Decemeber. I’m going to run this company one day.

They are throwing me a milkbone over here, but even a crumb becomes a banquet for the starved.

Don’t tell me you didn’t know about my Kia Amanti riding on 20's. In the world of land yachts and luxobarges, it’s a row boat for the road. I freaking love it though!

i hear you on that one, anything would be great at this point.

Congrats! That is always nice.
I scored “Exceeds expectations” on my performance review, but alas, no money in the budget for any raises. I scored a maximum raise last year, but the university has raises only every 2-3 years.

Career 1: One $1/hr raise in 4.5 years. Now I did gain $0.17/hr when I went to a different company in the same industry, but that involved moving from a state with income tax to moving to a state without income tax so it was kind of a wash. There was also no hope for a raise at the second company.
Career 2: Biannual opportunities for raises. First raise was 1.9%, second was 1.2%. Anticipating a smaller raise in about a month. Guess it’s better than nothing.

It’s the whole selling it for a car thing that wobbled my mind a bit.

Given my workforce experience I’m entirely convinced this story is fiction .

Look at it this way, that extra few grand a year is enough to cover a vacation (depending on a few things of course), or it will cover eating lunches out every day!
I just got a 6.7% raise, plus they’ve just introduced performance bonuses for all techs, then further performance bonuses just for team leads! All of this combined my next paycheck will be 20% higher than it would have been before my raise and the bonuses! That being said I kicked some serious ass this pay period and won’t usually make that much more.

Who knows... maybe you’ll be driving a Kia Cadenza soon! Or a K900!!!

I test drove a Cadenza again towards the beginning of September actually, as well as a 4-cyl CTS. I’m officially at a point where I need something that is extremely responsive to inputs. Doesn’t mean fast, sporty, or anything like, I just need to get things as soon as I ask for them. So my dreams of Cadenza and CTS are gone.
I would love to test a K900 though, they are starting to go for under $30k more frequently! I just need a 2015 K900 with the indigo blue interior since that spec automatically has the VIP package, features, and uniqueness I’m a sucker for.

Clearly what you need then is this:
